Russula laurocerasi Melzer. Mandeltäubling. Very similar to R. foetens but rather smaller, the cap (4–8cm across) often a brighter ochre brown and less glutinous. It is distinguished by its more or less marked odour of bitter almonds. The globose spores (8–9.5 x 8–8.5um) are also very distinctive having more or less well-developed, sometimes branching, wings up to 2um high connecting a large proportion of the warts. Habitat and season as R. foetens. Frequent. Not edible. The photograph is of the form separated as R. fragrans by Romagnesi. Found In Europe.
